What is operational readiness?

Operational readiness is the real-time ability of an emergency service to meet incident requirements with the right combination of available qualified personnel, vehicles and equipment. It changes constantly as people become available, certifications lapse and units deploy.

What does FireOps manage?

FireOps manages the elements that determine operational capability: personnel and their availability, skills and certifications, vehicles, equipment, and the requirements of the incidents a service must be able to answer. It relates them to show what a station can actually do at any moment.

How does FireOps calculate operational readiness?

FireOps compares the resources that are actually available — qualified personnel, serviceable vehicles and equipment — against the capability an incident type requires, and reflects the result in real time as availability, certifications and deployments change.

How does FireOps support dispatch decisions?

FireOps provides capability-based decision support: it shows which resources hold the skills, certifications and equipment an incident requires, so the best-suited unit can be identified — not simply the nearest one. It supports the decision; it does not replace the dispatcher or the CAD system.

Does FireOps replace a CAD system?

No. FireOps complements a Computer-Aided Dispatch (CAD) system. It adds a real-time, capability-based view of readiness and can exchange information with a CAD system, but it is not itself a dispatch system.

Can FireOps operate during a network outage?

FireOps is designed with a local-first architecture so that a station retains access to its readiness data during a network outage. Data lives and is processed on-site and synchronises when connectivity is restored.

How does FireOps manage firefighter qualifications?

FireOps records the skills and certifications each responder holds, including certification validity. Because readiness depends on valid qualifications, approaching expirations become visible before they reduce the pool of deployable, qualified personnel.

How does FireOps track vehicles and equipment?

FireOps tracks vehicles and equipment as part of operational capability, relating their status and availability to the requirements of the incidents a service must answer, so the true deployable picture is visible in real time.

How does capability-based dispatch work?

Capability-based dispatch matches each incident’s required skills, certifications and equipment to the resources that actually hold them. Instead of choosing purely by proximity, it identifies units that can genuinely perform the task, improving the suitability of the response.

How are FireOps licences structured?

FireOps is offered in three station editions — S, M and L — that reflect deployment sizing (personnel and vehicles) and commercial licensing. Core operational capabilities are included in every edition; emergency-critical functionality is never artificially disabled for smaller stations. Pricing is provided on request.
